The Internal Revenue Service, the Rhode Island Division of Taxation, and others have issued a joint reminder that online threats and annoyances abound.
The group -- which includes other states, tax software providers, and tax preparers -- urged consumers to make sure they have active and up-to-date security software to protect computers from hackers and identity thieves. To view the reminder, issued on November 28, click here.
